A green biorefinery has many advantages. Farmers can once again economically maintain and cultivate their grassland. This protects and preserves this valuable ecosystem in the long term and avoids the conversion of permanent grassland to arable land. In the long term, this also leads to more income and jobs in rural areas. At the same time, livestock farms are offered a sustainable, regional protein feed as a substitute for soy. This will help to lead agriculture into a climate-friendly future. It will also make the industry less dependent on feed imports, thereby also implementing the goals of the German government's protein strategy. This one biorefinery alone will make this possible for several hundred (620) farmers who cultivate over 25,000 hectares of permanent grassland.
