Circulair Fuels

Duration

01.10.2025 - 30.09.2029

The CIRCULAR FUELS project aims to address these challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration among
research groups specialising in gas-phase upgrading catalysts, pyrolysis, hydrothermal carbonisation (HTC),
hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL), machine learning (ML) and process simulation. These collaborations involve
universities, a biotechnology company, an AI company, and a catalyst commercialisation company. We aim to
begin by working on the utilisation of specific feedstocks, such as solid biowaste, to produce biofuels.
Subsequently, we plan to expand the range of feedstocks to include diverse waste compositions (e.g., sewage
waste, urban waste) through process simulation and AI modelling.
