Circular Fuels
Duration
01.01.2025 - 31.12.2029
The CIRCULAR FUELS project is an integrated four-year programme focusing on knowledge transfer and networking between seven partners. The aim is to tackle challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration with research groups from Spain (University of Seville - UoS), Italy (Polytechnic University of Milan - PoliMi) and the United Kingdom (Queen's University Belfast - QUB) that specialise in catalysts for the treatment of gas phases from pyrolysis, Hydrothermal Carbonisation (HTC), Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL), machine learning (ML) and process simulation. In addition to the universities mentioned above, a British technology company (GreenX Technology Ltd), two Spanish companies from the IT sector (Vortico) and the marketing of catalysts (GREENE ENTERPRISE S.L.) are also involved in this collaboration. We initially want to work on the use of specific raw materials such as solid biowaste for the production of biofuels. We then plan to expand the range of raw materials to include various waste compositions (e.g. sewage sludge, municipal waste) through process simulation and AI modelling.
